KL North 38th Anniversary Dinner at the CIBO, Holiday Villa Subang Jaya

Octber 23, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North celebrates its 38th Anniversary dinner today at the CIBO Italiano Restaurant, Holiday Villa, Subang Jaya. We are honored to have our Guest of Honor - District Governor Dato' Yeow Wah Ching and his spouse Datin Genevieve, IPDG Datuk Danny Ooi, 1st VDG Dr Ben C Ng, 2nd VDG Chan Hoi, PDGs, his Cabinet Officers, Visiting Sister Clubs from Lions Club of Kwun Tong, Hong Kong and Lions Club of Kuching North, other fellow Lions, Lionesses, Leos and friends of Lion joining us gracing this auspicious occasion. The celebration went well with a lot of funs and smiling faces. Many thanks to the organizing committees for their great efforts to ensure successful implementation. Pictures tell a thousand words. 4-in-1 Health Awareness Project at Hotel Sri Petaling

The Lions Club of KL North had on the 17th.Oct. 2010 (Sunday) organized a 4 in 1 Health Community Service Project at Sri Petaling Hotel for the residents of Seri Petaling and surrounding areas. The bright and shining sun brought cheers to the folks and as early as 9.00 am, residents were queing up for registration although the event only starts at 10 am - 4 pm. This health project can be touted as the most well prepared and organized 4 in 1 project by the LCKLN and special thanks should be accorded to the OC Ln. Richard Ho and his organizing team consisting of Ls. Chistina Er, FOL Kian Hung (bwl), RA of Seri Petaling VP Mr. Francis Foo, Mr. Connection 1st VP Ken Jern and the Anchorman 2nd VP Tony Yee. The response from the residents were great and the support given by the LCKLN's members was ever encouraging.

This event was graced by our Guest of Honor YB Teresa Kok (MP for Seputeh) with her good office, our PDG Ln. Sam Leong and wife Lady Molly Leong, PDG Ln. Raymond Tang and wife Lady Josephine (District Cabinet Treasurer), Regent Chairman Ln. Lim Chun Ngue with all the 25 LCKLN's members like DC James Andres, DC Lee Yew Foo, IPP Tan Teoh, Ln Teoh Lee Khoon, Ln Jimmy Yong, Ln Pun Eken, Ln Ben Sng, Ln Peter Lek, Ln Janette Pang, Ln How Pak Kong and many mores, Lioness, Leos, Friends of Lions and was well supported by the RA of Seri Petaling together with our sponsors Messrs. Best World Lifestyle Sdn. Bhd., Messrs. Grand Mulverest Events Corporation Sdn. Bhd. and Hotel Sri Petaling.

Residents were screened for Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Glucose Level and BMI by The National Kidney Foundation. Blood Donation was carried out by Pusat Darah Negara, whilst Eye Test was conducted by Messrs. Venice Optik Sdn. Bhd. and I-Optik Sdn. Bhd. together with the Lions Mobile Eye Test Unit. Organ Pledges were made by the residents for "The Gift Of Life" to human kindness. Coinside with the project was a short speech on organ pledge by organ donor and author of the book " I don't know you But let me save you" Ms. Chew Hoong Ling and a health talk conducted by the Founder of Messrs. Best World Lifestyle Sdn. Bhd. Dr. Doreen Tan on the topic " Lets eat right to keep FIT". The event concluded with great SUCCESS !!!. We managed to get 66 pax of Blood, 121 pax for health screening, 177 pax for Eye Screening and 34 pax for Organ Pledges.

Lions Club of Helsinki Tollo from Finland Visit

The Lions Club of KL North played host to the visiting Lions Club of Helsinki Tollo, Finland on the 15th Oct 2010 (Friday). OC Ln. Teoh Lee Kwon hosted a dinner at Siu Siu Restaurant at Taman Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur where the following Finn Lions and LCKLN's members were treated to a sumptuous dinner of German Pork Knuckle, Lemon Chilli Crab, Steamfish, Ginger Curry Chicken, Vegetables, Sticky Brown Rice with flowing Beers and finally Chinese Tea for cleansing. Food was very delicious and all had a hearty meal. The Finn Lions then presented their bannerites to our President Ln. Wesley Er, PDG Ln. Sam Leong, OC Ln. Teoh Lee Kwon and 2nd VP Ln. Tony Yee. Thanks to our host OC Ln. Teoh Lee Kwon who bought the dinner for all the Lions of that night.

On the 16th. Oct 2010 (Saturday), Ln. Karu and wife Lady Anita played host for dinner at The Manhattan Steak House Restaurant (wholly owned by Ln. Karu and partners) at Kelana Jaya, where the Lions were treated to a Western styled dinner consisting of Beef, Lamb and Chicken Steaks specially prepared by chef Daniel from Spain with flowing red wine and beers. Food was great and this chic place is run by Ln. Karu's daughter Evita. PDG Sam Leong, 1st VP Ln. Ken Jern and 2nd VP Ln. Tony Yee subsequently presented our Club's bannerites to the Finn Lions in reciprocation. All Lions are encourage to dine at this chic restaurant owned by Ln. Karu and managed by her daughter Evita. They serve Western and have quite a good selection of wines. A classy looking place. As they are still very new, their business card was still not ready when yours truly visited but you could get all information from our Ln. Teoh Lee Kwon whom have help to start up this restaurant for Ln. Karu. Could be our next place for our social.

4-in-1 Health Awareness Project at Dewan Serbaguna MPSJ Seri Kembangan

Sept 26, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North organized a 4-in-1 Health Awareness project today at Dewan Serbaguna MPSJ, Seri Kembangan that includes Health & Diabetic Screening, Eye Checking, Blood Donation and Organ Pledge. The Organized Chairman (OC) Lion Jimmy Yong and his committee have worked closely with Wakil Parlimen of Serdang, YB Teo Nie Ching and Exco Kerajaan Selangor YB Ean Yong Hian Wah to promote this meaningful project. Our Press Release was publish in the Nanyang Daily and Sin Chew Daily. We got overwhelming turnout. The project was successfully completed with 124 Public registered for the Health & Diabetic screening, 110 Public for their eyes checking, 91 Public registered for the blood donation but only 80 bags of blood were collected for the Tabung Darah Negara and 12 Public pledged the organs. Distribution of Project Flyers at the Mooncake Festival, Seri Kembangan on 18 Sept 2010

September 18, 2010 - Led by Organizing Chairman (OC) Jimmy Yong, the project team went to Pusat Perdagangan, Seri Kembangan, Serdang in conjunction with YB Teo Nie Ching and YB Ean Yong's celebrating the Mooncake Festival with the residents there, to promote our 4-in-1 Health Awareness Project to be held at "Dewan Serbaguna MPSJ, Jalan Besar, Seri Kembangan" on 26 September 2010.

The team consists of OC Jimmy Yong, 1st VP Ken Jern, IPP Tan Teoh, PP Lee Yew Foo & family, 2nd VP Tony Yee & 2 Leos, gathered at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort at 6pm and heading to Serdang around 6.30pm. The 3 cars team reached the venue around 6.45pm and started distributing the project flyers. There were around 2000+ people attending the Mooncake festival. At no time, we finished distributing our flyers and we ended up at the famous Wah Tian Restaurant enjoying our dinner. The food was delicious and reasonably cost. Lions Club of Cebu Downtown 35th Anniversary Celebration

August 6, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has sent a group of delegates namely President Wesley Er, Ambassador PP Donald Lee, IPP Tan Teoh, 2nd VP Tony Yee, PDG Leong A Sam, PP Ben Sng, Lion Vidang & Spouse, and Lion Janette Pang to visit our sister club, Lions Club of Cebu Downtown, Philippines in conjunction with their club 35th Anniversary Celebration on 7 August 2010. Being a good host, we had an enjoyable 4-days trip from 6 to 9 August 2010 with very warm welcome and good hospitality from our brothers and sisters of Cebu Downtown. Lions Club of Gua Musang 28th Anniversary and Installation Day

July 31, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has sent a group of delegates led by President Wesley visiting Lions Club of Gua Musang on their 28th Anniversary & Installation celebration today. Delegates include President Wesley Er, IPP Tan Teoh, 1st VP Ken Jern, PDG Leong A Sam, PDG Raymond Tang & Spouse, PP Lee Yew Foo & Spouse, and PP How Pak Kong arrived at Gua Musang in the afternoon for the favourate durian and tropical fruit party before checking into Impiana Inn hotel.

The 28th Anniversary and Installation dinner was held at the Civic Hall, Gua Musang followed by supper drinking party with local delights. All of us enjoyed good foods and good fellowships. The following photos were taken during the trip contribution from 1st VP Ken Jern:

Leo Orientation at Goldhill Club, Bandar Manjalara, Kepong dated 24 July 2010

Hi Fellow Lions,

Today's Leo Orientation Program for our Leos was held successfully at GoldHill Club and grace by our Region 4 Region Chairman, Ln Lim Chun Nge. There were 40 Leos from our three Leo clubs i.e. Jinjang, Sultan Abdul Samad and KL Unity. They could not find it more enjoyable especially with our Speakers being so humerous in their delivery of their respective topics.

I can see that they really enjoy the whole program especially the good fellowship between the Leos and our Lions which ends with lunch.

Our grandfather of Leo, Ln Chong, as usual couldn't miss his Leos were also present to give his invaluable advice to his grandchildren.

Once again, thanks to all our Lions who have contributed your unselfish time and efforts to make this Orientation a great success. Special thanks must go to Ln Janette who have spent sleepless nights to compile all our topics materials. Cheers!

1st Business Meeting in Term 2010-2011

July 1, 2010 - New Board of Directors led by President Wesley for the Term 2010-2011 have come on board today with the first business meeting held at Banker's Club, Amoda, Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur. President Wesley has shared his 2010-2011 plan with the attendees and followed by the supporting execution plan by his COCs / OCs. Former Zone Chairman Lion Lee Yew Foo then presented the Club Secretary and Club Treasurer Excellent Award for 2009-2010 respectively to Lion Pun E Ken and PP Molly Leong followed by Service Gold Award to PP Vincent Hoh. IPP Tan Teoh later presented the Leo Advisor Service Award to our 3 Leo Advisors namely PP Chong Chin Teck, PP Ben Sng and Lion Nicholas Ching in appreciation to their service in nuturing our LEOs. June 30, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has again organized another Blood Donation & Organ Pledge Drive at Plastic Centre Sdn Bhd, Klang today. With the help of the Human Resource Manager, Mr Robert Yong, 44 of the willing staffs came to donate their blood. However, only 28 bags of blood were collected because some of these donors did not meet the requirements set by the Blood Bank. Apart from that, we managed to get 10 of the staffs to pledge their organ. The following are some of the photos taken during the project:

Many thanks to Mr. Robert Yong for helping to get the donors within their factory premise and of course our Organizing Chairman (OC) IPP Lee Yew Foo, President Tan Teoh and Lion Teoh Lee Kwon for successfully carrying out the project. We are happy with the result.

Well, this is our last project for our Term 2009-2010 which end today on 30 June 2010. Overall for the blood donation & organ pledge, we have exceeded our target of 200 bags and managed to collect a total of 310.67 bags of blood and also got 69 persons pledging their organ. According to the Statistics given by DC Vegent Pang on this subject, we recon that we have achieved at top 10 position for the blood donation effort and Number One position for the organ pledge. Well Done KL North...

Region 4 Fellowship Nite at Baba Nyonya, Plaza Glomac, Kelana Jaya

June 25, 2010 - Region 4 Chairperson (RC) Tan Poh Ling hosted a fellowship dinner at her Baba Nyonya Restaurant, Plaza Glomac, Kelana Jaya around 7.30pm onward. It started with a MLM talk followed by the Lions fellowship proper. Many of us did not join in the MLM talk.

During the Lions Fellowship dinner around 8.30pm, RC Tan Poh Ling presented snapshots of the monthly Loving Sunday projects carried out throughout the term 2009-2010. She also recognized and presented the M1 award to Lion Gina of KL South. On behalf of KL North, President Tan Teoh then presented a gift to RC Tan Poh Ling. Blood Donation and Organ Pledge Campaign at The Mall, Jalan Putra, Kuala Lumpur

June 25, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has organized another Blood Donation and Organ Pledge Campaign today at The Mall, Jalan Putra, Kuala Lumpur. It was an encouraging Friday that there were more shoppers came in during lunch time and afternoon Friday prayers. Over 60+ potential blood donors came over to register, however we only managed to collect 32 bags of blood because of either the donor is underweight, on medication or not fulfilling conditions set by the blood bank. Without giving up we managed to get some of them to pledge their organ instead. We have got 19 of them pledged their organ. The following are some of the photos taken during the project:


Over all, we are satisfied with the result as we did better than the last few campaigns carried out by the Blood Bank there. We also get extra 19 persons pledging their organ. The Management, Metroplex Holding Sdn Bhd, is happy with our effort and would like us to arrange another campaign in 3 - 4 months time. Many thanks to OC Teoh Kah Yew and his staff for organizing and helping up the campaign from 10.30am to 5pm, and President Tan Teoh and IPP Lee Yew Foo for supporting the project whole day. The presence of President Elect Wesley, Ln Ken Jern, PP Raymond Kwong and Region Chairperson Tan Poh Ling during lunch time and Ln Tony Yee from 2pm to 4pm were encouraging but more KL North Lions members' participation would be much appreciated. Many thanks to those who came and participated in this meaningful project.

Visiting Taman Megah Handicapped Children Home

June 19, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North visited Taman Megah Handicapped Children Home this morning at 10.30am to spend a couple of hours accompanying and playing with the children. Lions representing KL North namely OC James Andres, President Tan Teoh, IPP Lee Yew Foo, PP Raymond Kwong, PP Ben Sng, Ln Peter Lek, Ln William Ching, and a friend of Lions Miss Jocelyn Lee, were present at the Home. The project ended with a presentation of RM1,000 cheque being the cash donation from KL North and 2 boxes of Honey product from PP Donald Lee before we said goodbye to the children for lunch. Many thanks to OC James Andress and his team for the visit giving their tender loving care and kindness to those handicapped kids. For sure, those kids need our accompany and care - we could feel it. District Appreciation & Award Night at Flamingo Hotel, Ampang

June 12, 2010 - Lions District 308 B1 has organized the District Appreciation & Award Night today at Flamingo Hotel, Ampang to celebrate and reward the achievement of what have been carried out during the fiscal term 2009-2010. The programme started with the Necrology Ceremony remembering our Lions who had passed away or Rest In Peace, e.g. Lion Chee Hin Nam of KL North, followed by recognition of our Senior Lions who are 70 years old and above, e.g. PP Tai Lung Khoon, PP Tony Chan and PP Chong Chin Teck of KL North for their long service with Lions.

The District Governor, Datuk Danny Ooi then presented the Lions watch to his cabinet officers such as KL North recipients: PDG Sam Leong, PDG Raymond Tang, IPP Lee Yew Foo and PP Donald Lee. The night continued with award presentation. KL North managed to get the Website Blog Award, Club Excellence Award, President Excellence Award, Secretary Excellence Award, Tresurer Excellence Award and Community Service Project Award. Blood Donation & Organ Pledge Campaign at Bangunan KWSP, Pudu

June 10, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has jointly organized a Blood Donation & Organ Pledge Campaign with UTS Marketing at Bangunan KWSP, Jalan Changkat Raja Chulan today. The project was successfully carried out with 101 potential donors came and we managed to collect 85 bags of blood and 15 donors pledged their organ.

Many thanks Mr Calvin Ng, the MD of UTS Marketing for taking up this meaningful joint project and his co-organizers Mr. Sunny Loke and Ms. Jascie for ensuring the flow of donors unbroken from 10am to 4.30pm getting them from various location such as Bangunan Ming's and Phileo Damansara's offices apart from Bangunan KWSP. The project could not take off without the support from Lion Tan Swee Lim, the Branch Head of KWSP for the strategic venue at ground floor. Thank you Lion Tan Swee Lim and his KWSP staffs for the support. Obviously, big thanks to all the donors for their noble action to save life with their blood and organs.

OC Lion Richard Ho has done an excellent job for initiating up to completing the said project with his project committee to ensure successful implementation. Job's well done. Joint Installation of BODs Term 2010-2011

June 6, 2010 - Joint Installation of BODs Term 2010-2011 for clubs within Region 3 & 4 was held at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort today at 7pm. There was over 35 dinner tables for the event. Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North sent a delegate team of over 20 people to celebrate with its newly installed Board of Directors for term 2010-2011. Broga Hill Hike with Leos

June 6, 2010 - Leo Club of KL Unity has organized a hiking trip to Broga Hill Semenyih with Leo Club of SMK Jinjang today accompanied by parent Lions club - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North. There was a total of 29 participants in this trip - 7 KL Unity Leos with 1 guest, 12 SMK Jinjang Leos, and 8 KL North Lions plus 1 friend of Lions. There were two gathering points - SMK Jinjang and SMK SAS respectively led by President Leo Tan Eong Xien and IPP Leo Chia Sheng Wei. All participants were to gather there at 5.30am and the teams respectively departed at 6am heading to Broga Hill Semenyih.

We arrived Semenyih town around 7am for breakfast before starting climbing the Broga Hill at around 7.50am. The hike took us around an hour for around 1.7km to reach the peak of Broga Hill at 400m height. There are beautiful scenaries and some challenging climb spots. We were lucky because there wasn't raining last night otherwise it would be very slippery. There were quite heavy crowd for narrow tracking path but all of us took our turn slowly. We should have started our journey earlier as we missed the sunrise. We could also extend our journey to higher peak, Tok Wan which is another 3.9km away. But we opted to go down as the delicious "Ikan Bakar" was waiting for us. The trip ended with at Restaurant Jati nearby for our early organic "Ikan Bakar" lunch before heading home. Kuching North 20th Anniversary Celebration, 22-23 May 2010

May 22, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has sent a group of delegates led by President Tan Teoh to attend its sister club: Lions Club of Kuching North on Kuching North's 20th anniversary celebration today. The delegates include our Kuching North Ambassador IPP Lee Yew Foo, President Tan Teoh, President Elect Wesley, PDG Sam Leong, PP Molly Leong, PP Ben Sng, 3rd VP Ken Jern and Lion Janette Pang.

IPP Irene Brodie and PP Jessie Voon came to airport to welcome us. They brought to taste the famous laksa and rojak in town before checked us in to 360 Hotel. The Anniversary Dinner Celebration was held at Kuching Club in the evening. The event was graced by Guest of Honor District Govenor Karen Koh. We must congratulate and thank the Presiding Officer President Alexander Lao and his team for the grand anniversary. We enjoyed ourselves very much with good fellowship, good food and entertainment.

Nex morning we carried out a joint project at Lions Nursing Home together with Kuching North accompanied by President Alexander Lao, IPP Irene Brodie, PDG Dr Voon, PP Jessie Voon and PP Albert Phua. KL North and Kuching North respectively donated RM1,000 each to the Lions Nursing Home for a new bed. We proceed for early lunch before visiting the museam. At lunch, we had great fellowship and also discussed about how to help the home to raise fund for the additional 30 beds and also jointly organized the water project in Kuching, social outing and Leos interaction. After the museam, we enjoyed our tea break with famous rojak, belacan meehoon and ABC at a hut nearby before heading to airport around 5pm.

Health Screening at 3K, SS13/1 Subang Jaya Dated 15 May 2010

May 15, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has jointly organized a Health Screening project today at low-cost flats, SS13 with YB Hannah Yeoh of ADUN N.31 Subang Jaya being our Patron, to benefit the community over there. The Health Screening was kicked start by our OC Lion Tony Yee with his working team at 10am with the NKF Mobile Coach stationed at the 3K carpark area near A&W Outlet, ss13/1 Subang Jaya. The working committee came as early as 8.30am to setup the project site and to promote and distribute more flyers to community nearby.

Representatives from YB Hannah namely her Political Secretary Mr Edward Ling, her Special Assistants Mr. Timothy and Mr. Reuben came over to support us and also inviting the Press from Sinar Harian, Journalist Mr. Nur Farhan Abd Manan for a short interview with us on the said community project. The project has successfully completed at 4.30pm with as total of 82 persons were being screened.

Many thanks to the OC Tony Yee and his team namely President Tan Teoh, PP Ben Sng, IPP YF Lee, PP Donald Lee, Incoming President Wesley Er, Lion Ken Jern, PP How Pak Kong, Lion Richard Ho, Lion Janette Pang, and PP James Andres for the job well done. 48th MD308 Lions Convention, Singapore

May 2, 2010 - 48th MD308 Lions Convention was held at Suntec Singapore from 30 April 2010 to 2 May 2010. Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has sent a total of 14 delegates to the convention namely President Tan Teoh, President Elect Wesley Er, IPP Lee Yew Foo, PP Donald Lee, PP Ben Sng, 3rd VP Ken Jern, Lion Yap Gris Som, PDG Sam Leong, PP Molly Leong, PDG Raymond Tang, Lion Teoh Kah Yew, Lion Jimmy Yong, Lion Lim Chin Wee and Lion Janette Pang.

During the convention, the 8 resolutions presented by the District were debated and voted. 7 out of 8 resolutions were passed except the 1st resolution: The Bifocation exercise. On the other hand, Lion Dato' Yeow Wah Chin is re-elected as the District Governor and Lion Dr Ben C Ng is re-elected as 1st Vice District Governor for term 2010-2011. Lion Chan Hoi is elected as 2nd Vice District Governor 2010-2011 defeating Lion Alan Yoong.

Press Conference on Lions-EASB and Lions-IPMA with YB Teo Nie Ching on 27 April 2010

April 27, 2010 - Press conference was held with YB Teo Nie Ching & YB Au Yong at the DAP Service Center Serdang to promote Lions-EASB and Lions-IPMA scholarship programs to all Malaysian particularly for the community in Serdang. The following are photos taken during the press conference:

Gotong Royong at The Community Service Centre of the Deaf Dated 17 April 2010

April 17, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North (KL North) has led and organized a joint Gotong Royong Loving Saturday Project with 11 Lions Clubs and 3 Leo Clubs at the Community Service Centre of The Deaf (CSCD), Lorong Ampang Kuala Lumpur today from 8.30am to 3.00pm. The scope of work includes clearing up the undergrowth on the slope, landscaping, cleaning up the firsh pond & install netting, clearing up the drainage system & prevent floods, electrical works & repair roof leaks, repairing tables & chairs, cleaning up the toilets, and other activities such as preparing foods for lunch, decoration and photoshoting.

The project was successfully carried out by over 55 members team respectively from Lions Club of KL North, KL South, KL Host, KL Mega City, KL Pudu, KL Bukit Kiara, Ampang, KL City, KL Metropolitan, Damansara KL and KL Titiwangsa; from Leo Club of KL Unity, SMK Jinjang and Damansara KL; as well as students from CSCD. A Big Thank to all of you for carrying up this very challenging mission together. We have make a difference. Students of CSCD can have better study environment there.

Special thanks must be given to Organizing Chairman Wesley Er, Organizing Leader Tony Yee, Lion Gina Kuek, friend of Lions Mr Johnny, Ms Cindy & Ms Rose and working committee to make this project a success. We honored to have our hardworking Leos, students of CSCD and Lions who came forward for the project. Without our Region 4 Chairperson Tan Poh Ling, Zone 11 Chairman Lee Yew Foo, Zone 10 Chairman Lim Meng Sheng, Zone 9 Chairperson Uma, Zone 8 Chairman Kenny Low and respective Club Presidents, we would not have got over 55 participants. Also, our hardworks and actions have been captured by our dedicated protographer President Kok, PP Donald Lee and friend of Lions Karen Poon for fond memory. Many thank to all of you and job's well done.

Many thanks to the student of CSCD for presenting us the appreciation cards. That are meaningful and priceless. Also aknowledgement must be given to the clubs/members who contributed in cash and in kind for the project. Thanks to DC Leon Thong of KL Host for contributing RM1,200 for the 1st 6 months of the centre rental fee and Lions Club of Damansara KL for contributing RM1,200 for the 2nd 6 months of the centre rental fee.

Lions KL North Charity Golf at Kajang Hill Golf & Country Club Dated 8 April 2010

April 8, 2010 - Lions KL North Charity Golf was held at Kajang Hill Golf & Country Club this morning from 6.45am to 2.30pm. The event was graced by the Guest of Honour 1st Vice District Governor Dato' Yeow Wah Chin together with 47 golf participants, teeing off at 8.10am. The tournament was based on System 36 (modified), short guns. With a comfortable 12 flights, the tournament took around 5 hours to complete. The event was successfully completed with a buffet lunch at the club house restaurant, and giving out Winner Trophies, Prizes and Lucky Draws.

Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North would like to thank Dato' Yeow and the 47 golf participants for gracing this event. The project couldn't have kicked-off without their participation. We hope they enjoyed their game with us at Kajang Hill Golf & Country Club.

Also, we would like to thank our sponsors for their sponsorship in cash or in kind for this event. Without them, we could not have raised about RM15 thousands. All the proceeds shall be used to serve and benefit the needy community. The club will determine and ensure the proceeds are given to deserving recipients.

Credit must also be given to the organizing chairman Lion Tai Lung Khoon and his committee for their hard work and dedication to ensure the project is successful carried out. We must congratulate and thank all of you for your job's well done. Also, we would like to thank those members and friends of Lions who came forward to help up to make this a success.

Applying 7 Habits Workshop at Genting INTI International College Dated 27 Mar 2010

Mar 27, 2010 - It is a great pleasure to report that we had successfully delivered the "Applying 7 Habits" Workshop for Genting INTI International College (GIIC) in Gohtong Jaya from 9am to 6pm today. We also had wonderful time for our club social BBQ cum Campfire at GIIC immediately after the workshop. I would like to thank all the facilitators - PDG Sam Leong, President Ln Tan Teoh, Ln Ben Sng, Ln Tony Yee, Ln Isaac KP Ng, Ln Navin Khandhar, and Ln Donald Lee for their commitment and sacrifices for many weeks of preparation for this workshop during our trial run in T.O.C. Without their contribution, this workshop would not be possible. Lastly, I would like to thank our Ln Nicholas Ching for hosting us in GIIC for the workshop and our club social - reported by OC Ln Wesley Er

CNY Luncheon 2010 at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Club Dated 28 Feb 2010

Feb 28, 2010 - 22 Lions Clubs within Region 3 & 4 including Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North (KL North) have jointly organized a Chinese New Year Luncheon with less privileged old folks and orphans in Klang Valley today in conjunction with Chinese New Year Celebration. The venue was at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort, from 11am to 3pm. A total of 54 tables were allocated for the luncheon.

The project working committees including KL North President Tan Teoh as the project treasurer, was working very hard to ensure it is successfully organized. We managed to achieve over RM180 thousand in term of project value through seeking out more sponsorship. These benefited over 20 old folks homes and orphanages where 320 attended the luncheon sponsored by us. They were also given Ang Pow in conjunction with Chinese New Year plus goodie bags worth over RM150 per bag. Most importantly, they were accompanied by 220 Lions and friends of Lions celebrating this auspiscious event.

Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North at its capacity has sponsored 1 table to the House of Victory Elderly home inmates. 10 of them were accompanied by 20 KL North Lions. We mingled around with them and other elderly inmates and orphans from other homes giving them a little joy and happiness through this event.

Fellowship Dinner with District 333-C Lions & Leos, Japan Dated 6 Feb 2010

Feb 6, 2010 - LCI District 333-C Lions and Leos have invited Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North and its Leo Clubs to join their fellowship dinner today at Marco Polo Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with their Leo Spring Training in Malaysia.

20 of our delegates including 5 of our Lions namely President Tan Teoh, Omega Leo Advisor Ln Nicholas Ching, Alfa Leo Advisor PP Chong Chin Teck, Alfa Leo Advisor PP Ben Sng, and DC Youth Exchange Ln Alan Yoong, and 15 of our Leos lead by President Leo Tan Eon Xien, President Leo Tham Yok Wah and President Leo Adrian Andre Pereira respectively from our Leo Club of KL Unity, SMK Jinjang and SMK Sultan Abdul Samad attended the said fellowship dinner.

We are very honored to have met the 2nd Vice District Governor Lion Kazuo Kanai of District 333-C, Japan and President Leo Taketo Hiiro, together with their 25 Japanese delegates from 18 different Lions/Leos Clubs. Apart from great fellowship and friendship, we exchanged knowledge and ideas for Leos recruitments and membership growth. Our Leos have also performed some entertainments and shared some local delights with our Japanese counterparts. Apart from exchanging bannerattes, 2nd VDG Lion Kazuo Kanai also presented a token of Yen 20,000 being the cash donation to KL North project fund, received by President Tan Teoh. Blood Donation Drive at Menara ING dated 5 Feb 2010

Feb 5, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North and ING Insurance Berhad have jointly organized a blood donation campaign at Menara ING to raise blood for our Tabung Darah Negara (Blood Bank). We have got 83 registered donors but 13 were rejected and 2 didn't turnout. A total of 68 bags of blood were collected.

Leprosy Project at Sungai Buloh Dated 30 Jan 2010

Jan 30, 2010 - Region 3 & 4 has organized the Sungai Buloh Leprosarium Visit (the world oldest leprosy centre/hospital - a community of people with leprosy) today. The visit is an annual joint project organized by Lions clubs in Region 3 & 4 and this year it is lead and organized by Region 3 Zone Chairman Eric Lee as our Loving Sunday project. The objective is to bring some joys to the patients there through our interaction and entertainment inconjunction with the coming Chinese New Year. It is indeed a very meaningful project and has been organized yearly since Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North started it many years ago.

Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has sent a team of 42 including President Tan Teoh, OC Wesley Er, PP Donald Lee, PP Raymond Kwong, Ln Yap Gris Som, PP Ben Sng, PDG Sam Leong, PDG Raymond Tang, PP Chong Chin Teck, 28 SMK Jinjang Leos lead by President Yuki and her faculty advisors - Ms. Low & Ms. Wong, and 3 KL Unity Leos lead by President Tan Eong Xien. The project started at 9 am at the Leprosy Centre Hall with various entertainment by Lions and Leos for the inmates followed by Choi San Ye distributing Oranges. We later proceed to visit the patients at the wards.

Our big delegates were divided into smaller groups visiting a few wards as well as helping up at the hall. We took charge for Female Ward 49 and supported KL South with our Leos at Ward 48. At the Ward, we entertained the patients at the wards by chit chating to them, entertaining them with Chinese New Year Songs and present them with Ang Pows, Mandarin Oranges and Goodie bags. The project went well and successful. Many thanks to Zone Chairman Eric Lee and his committee for organising the project. We must also thank our OC Wesley for the coordination and PP Donald for his professional photograhy. Most importantly, our BIG delegates: Thank all of you - give yourselves a pad on your back. You have brought joys and happiness to the inmates there. I can see from their eyes while having conversation with them. My fellow Lions and Leos, we don't have to wait for another year - Do visit them whenever we can...

Blood Donation, Organ Pledge and Health Screening at HELP University dated 13 Jan 2010

Jan 13, 2010 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has carried out Blood Donation campaign, Organ Pledge and Health Screening Programme at HELP University College, Pusat Bandar Damansara, Kuala Lumpur from 9.00am to 4.00pm today. Many thanks to Commander Anthony from the HELP's Student Affairs for his effort to provide the venue and promote the said project. The project could not be completed without our partners from Tabung Darah Negara and National Kidney Foundation; As well as the participating HELP students, staff and general public who came over to donate their bloods, pledge their organs for the needy.
