Oct 24 - Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North has organized the Lions International Peace Poster Contest at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Sungai Way today to encourage young people (age 11-13) to artistically express their Visions of Peace trhough Arts and the spreading of Peace and International Understanding among the Young Generation. A total of seven (7) schools namely, SJK (C) Sungai Way, SK Kampung Tunku, SJK (C) Puay Chai, SJK (C) Puay Chai 2, SJK (C) Lai Chee, SJK (C) Salak South, and SMJK Yu Chai Kajang, have sent their representatives for the contest.
The contest started at 9am for 3 hours. There were 20 qualitied contestants competing for the 3 grand prizes of RM100, RM50 and RM30 with trophies, and 10 consolation prizes. Miss Yap Shek Li, age 12, from SJK (C) Salak South, is the champion. Miss Yap's artwork will be sent for judging at our District level at Nov 8, 2009 at IOI Mall.
